Overcoming Decades of Disinvestment by Building Thriving Communities
We galvanize support from community and faith leaders to implement a strategic plan for stabilized housing and wellness support services for underserved veterans in need.
Building a Financial Bedrock
Did you know in 2013, Detroit filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy making it the largest municipal bankruptcy filing in U.S. history by debt? Once a city of nearly 2 million people, Detroit now houses under 700,000. We are a city that’s been tested, but we remain steadfast. At the core of our City is our people. Our nonprofit is dedicated to restoring our great city to its heyday.
To build wealth, you need to establish a foundation of success. This foundation should be built upon assets that can be passed down to future generations, good judgment and decision making, the ability to generate revenue, self care, positive mental health, and a support system that truly cares about your needs and wellbeing. At DPG, we minister to the whole man and woman - mind, body, spirit.
Our Support Services
Residental Housing & Homeownership
With the support of our community partners, such as: SER Metro Detroit and Brilliant Detroit, DPG plans to open The Jada House, a residential housing development in a safe and stabilized neighborhood for participants to grow and thrive. We also offer comprehensive training on the path to homeownership.
Skills Development & Financial Literacy
At part of our mission to help rebuild the lives of our veterans and their families, we provide skills development, career planning, financial literacy, and credit repair education for participants. We believe in building from the inside out to ensure veterans are marketable as they transition to life outside the military.
Mental Health Support & Victims Services
Another key component of our support programs is our mental health support, victims services, and the attention we give to improving the overall wellbeing of participants. We focus on self care, providing a strong support system to build community, and tools to manage stress, anxiety, and more.
“To create and build generational wealth, you need equity. Having access to a stable investment that can be passed down through generations increases financial freedom and the promise for a brighter future.”
— Roger Jones, Founder & President, Detroit Phoenix Group, Inc.

The Jada House
For those in need of transitional residential housing, we are working to build The Jada House - a safe community by and for veterans. Jada House will utilize grant funds and other funding sources to develop multi-family housing units in a growing and stabilized neighborhood, particularly those in need of reinvestment and economic revitalization. From thriving, sustainable communities with increased green space to on-site support services, Jada House delivers.
